Game Description

Ancient writings tell of a time when a connection across the great expanse shall serve as a sign of the coming of the Great Advent, when the dark forces threaten all that is known. It is said that those who first forge the path to Runeria from beyond shall be the key to turning back the coming threat from an unnamed scourge.

It is through resources attained through that connection by which Nefersila Takumis makes the horrid discovery that even Runeria's sacred guardians are to be considered under threat, and in due time those fears are realized as all communication with their associations is lost at the hands of dark forces born of a false interpretation of destiny itself. Fighting back against that interpretation, Nefersila and her three associates - siblings Kyla and Alan Larson of Earthpoint, as well as the holy cleric Meven Rogers - succeed in restoring two of the guardians to their sacred allegiance. But Demeria Frostworth, the ice queen of Chang'Li and residing guardian of the Frostpoint Caverns, could be their most formidable challenge yet.

This demo project for the upcoming release of Advent Heroes was created for RPG Maker Themed Jam #1 and contains a subset of the content which is planned for the full version of the game.

Control Note for the Demo

As the game is content locked by itch.io policy due to the ratings period beginning for the jam, I cannot take care of any bugs at this time. Nonetheless, it has been brought to my attention that an issue which I have not been able to reproduce may render the demo inoperable for some people. If this is the case, first try clicking the game screen at which point the game should work. If that doesn't help, disable any browser extensions that may affect how it works (including ad blockers, tracking disablement and input behavior modifiers) before playing. If you're still having problems, there may be a gamepad issue; if so, just use the keyboard. If you're still having problems, check that your computer is up to date (and at least Windows 10 or later for PC users, Mac users need Big Sur or later). If after all that work you are still having issues, please post them in the space provided on this page and I will investigate once the game is unlocked for additional uploads.
